Preschool education observes autumn half-term in accordance with the preschool education arranged by the City of Helsinki, when the preschool-aged children participate in early childhood education at Engel day-care centres. Preschool education stops for ski holiday week in February. The day-care centre is closed during week 8.

In accordance with Engel tradition, the preschool education year begins with a trip to buy preschool books.

 

Preschool daily programme

9:00am - 9:45am Outdoor activities and guided activities in Johanneksen puisto park

• Preschool children who arrive at Engel Viiskulma before 9:00am are also taken to Johanneksen puisto park.

9:45am - 12 noon Preschool

• The preschoolers learn and practice a wide range of subjects and skills.

12:00 noon – 12:45pm Lunch

12.45pm Afternoon nap/story

1:00pm Preschool ends and early childhood education begins

1:30pm Free play and guided activities (see weekly programme)

3:00pm - 3:30pm Snack
